If April and may were more rainy than the average, may, June and over all august and the first twenty days of September were hot. By the harvest, the grapes were very healthy, with characteristics similar to those of 1999 : high sugar content, good acidity, but more polyphenols. It was a rather precocious vintage, and the picking began on September 25th, till October 12th.
It will count among the greatest vintages of the twentiest century.
