After the freeze of 1991, the fertility of the vineyard was particularly elevated, which seemed to announce an abundant crop, difficult to ripen, all the more so because the summer was rainy. The
year 1992 was a « vintner’s vintage » : proper management of the vineyard was even more critic than usual so as to procure from the grapes their highest potential.
Because
of the precocious terroir of Margaux, healthy grapes were harvested before having to suffer anew the heavy rains that fell in the second half of October. From the cultivation methods, vinification as
well as rigorous final blending choices, was produced a wine of much higher quality than the climatic conditions would have led one to expect.
