Another precocious vintage, to be compared to 1990 in terms of dates of the vegetative cycle.
Summer was hot, and the rains which came before the picking did not much trim, on the excellent terroir of château Boyd-Cantenac, the potential that had been accumulated throughout the year.
Its colour has now abandoned the blue hints of young wines. Its complexity is in evidence, but the wood, coming from the barrel aging, has not yet totally blended. Its promising aromas still have to develop.
